Can't you see? Love is in the air. (Whole Love Essay)

High School is a moment when young people experiment with love. It’s a phenomenon of how young people show great importance to love even at a young age. Love is a strong feeling, especially for young people who have never experienced having a love life. It is an immense feeling with a mix of happiness whenever you see someone you like and despair when you don’t have the guts to talk to the person. High School has a mix of crushes and people who like a certain personality trait of a person. Excitement is embedded in High School because of crushes. High School is where people yearn for the company of their crush hoping that it will become something else. It is a time where young people roam around looking for the sweet taste of love. Young people learn many things about love in High School. Whether it is from experiencing it or maybe just watching from afar, there is no doubt that love is in the air in High School.

Love in high school can easily be confused with infatuation.
There is a huge difference between being in love and having a crush. Young people often confuse infatuation with love. High School is a period where many young people experience both. I’ve observed that people who have a crush on somebody don’t really know the person they like enough. Those who are in love know the person inside and out, they can speak their mind to them and they usually share a lot of things in common. Attraction is the reason for infatuation, usually because of looks and behaviour while love is developed because of personality, the person must be emotionally attached to the person for that to happen. Things might not work out between the person and the crush because they do not know each other much personally. Being in love with somebody is when a feeling of attachment is felt by the person.
In theory, there must be a connection between both people. Infatuation is primarily based on physical needs while being in love is a combination of both physical and emotional needs. Infatuation is an intense feeling because it is like new found love while being in love is a strong feeling, though not as intense, it is deeper, you care for the person a lot and you feel like you would do anything for the person. Both are accompanied by a strong emotion, which is why a lot of people often confuse infatuation with love. A crush fades faster than love, love can last a lifetime. When somebody likes someone, they are often unsure of what to do.
Being in love with someone is being able to put your trust in that person. Being in love is when you accept the person for what the person really is while infatuation is merely a period where the game of observing takes place. If the feeling of infatuation eventually turns into love, it happens because the person is sure of their feelings. Having a crush is being unsure, while being in love is being sure.   The bottom-line is that love and infatuation are different emotions, though people confuse infatuation with love, they are both similar in a way because of the emotions that are involved.

Looking Back (Reflective Essay)

As I look back on the past term and my English Communications class, I remember all the good times.
I’ve learned many important things which not only include English but also lessons about life. As I move on to another term, I feel ever more confident that my English is better than before. The most important thing that I have learned from my teacher is that one must dream in order to achieve something. It is not only about getting good marks, it is about how hard you try to get to where you want to be. Learning how to read and write better in this class has made me confident that I can become better at writing and expressing my own thoughts.  I have become better at English and the lessons taught to me in this class I will apply. The techniques taught to me will enhance my English and I truly believe that the course has helped me achieve my goals. I learned how to construct better sentences and essays.  I have become better at English through these learnings.

Is War Necessary?(Argumentative Essay)

Many wars have taken place in history, from around the globe and as far back in the bible; wars have always been a part of society. I believe that wars are necessary when it is in defense of your nation or when all diplomatic methods have been exhausted to find a peaceful solution to any form of aggression. An example of this is the Philippine revolution led by Andres Bonifacio and many other revolutionaries. The Katipunan fought for the independence of the Philippines through armed revolt and because they fought; we attained independence from our colonizers. Many countries have colonized the Philippines and through war, we have been granted independence many times. Several nations across the world needed to break away from the bondage of colonization so the people of these nations ended up waging a bloody war to attain freedom. War is necessary whenever evil attempts to disrupt the peace of society. Though people say war itself is bad, war is not really about killing, war is about fighting for equality and freedom, though it should not be at the cost of others equal rights.

Whenever an aggressor threatens the livelihood of people, people have no other choice but to fight back. Some people say that diplomacy should be given a shot and I agree; diplomacy must be the number one priority when it comes to conflict, but what if you can’t talk any sense to the aggressor? Would you allow another country to take over your own country? Would you allow them to take what rightfully belongs to your nation? World wars are examples of this; Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, which is a territory of the U.S.A. The U.S.A. declared war on Japan and other countries that posed as a threat guaranteeing victory by allying with other countries. Imagine the scenario today if Germany and Japan had won the war. Many nations would have been colonized by these countries and the culture these countries have would have been forgotten. Up to now, many nations equip themselves with arms to in order to defend themselves from any threat.
War should always be last resort. Once a country engages in war and decides to attack another country, the defending country must do everything in its capability until the aggressor decides to stop. Take a bully for example; if you can’t talk any sense to the bully, you have no choice but to fight back. I as a person am against killing; wars are bad, but somewhat necessary if it justifies a good cause. If people are fighting for peace and order then it may be justified. Other people believe that war is not needed at all because they believe that there are many more solutions other than war. I believe that wars that are for peace is justifiable while wars that are happening because of power and greed are not justifiable. Ironically though, war creates chaos but war also creates peace. The dropping of the nuclear bomb in Japan is an example of this. The Japanese only surrendered after the dropping of the nuclear bomb. Prior methods of diplomacy could not sway the Japanese in to surrendering. I come with the hope though that the incident that took place during that time will become a lesson for nations to be more diplomatic but not at the cost of letting other countries abuse their freedom.
In conclusion, many wars happen because of power and greed, those kinds of wars are not necessary; these wars can be solved with diplomacy. Wars that happen to prevent evil to spread its roots are necessary in order to create a peaceful society.
